[Now Playing] MORTEN – Ultra Music Festival Miami 2016 (Live Set)
Danish superstar MORTEN previewed his brand new track, Body Down at this year’s Ultra Music Festival Miami. The track was well received at UMF and its finally getting released this Friday, April 15th on PRMD Music.
Check out MORTEN’s Body Down, its the first track from his
Vicetone introduce their debut Aurora EP. The
five-track inaugural effort sticks closely to the duo’s fast-paced
melodic style while taking the time to tell a story. That story is
filled with bubbly synths, groovy basslines, and fluttery keys. Aurora
is more than just a dance record, which becomes more and more evident
with each listen through as each track is influenced as much by a
classical symphony as modern dancefloor zeitgeist.
The releases’ lead single “Bright Side” sets the tone with grand orchestral strings and angelic vocals care of Cosmos & Creature. The second single, “Don’t You Run” employs live rainstorm sounds to create an earthy texture and tone under Raja Kumari’s
beautiful vocals. Both “Siren” and “The Otherside” keep upbeat,
dance-heavy tones that will certainly resonate around the festival
crowds while “Green Eyes” masterful use of horns and plucky notes rounds
out the EP.
Vicetone says, “The Aurora EP is a project where we took our sound
in new directions: staying true to our original style, while also
experimenting with different sides of our sound. All of the songs are
melodic and full of energy, but each in their own way, helping the EP
feel like a whole. We wanted to show our fans multiple facets of our
sounds and we’re beyond excited to release it.”
Comprised of Ruben Den Boer and Victor Pool, Vicetone spent their
childhood in Groningen, Netherlands, dreaming of playing their music to
crowds of thousands. Now seemingly unstoppable, the Dutch duo have made quite a name for themselves in the dance music world , in addition to performing
at world renowned clubs and festivals including Ushuaia in Ibiza,
London’s Ministry of Sound, TomorrowWorld, Ultra Music Festival and
more. With multiple Top 10 singles under their belt on Beatport including “I’m On Fire,”
“Nothing Stopping Me” and “Pitch Black,” the former of which reached #1
on Beatport’s Progressive House Chart, the pair’s hit “United We Dance”
served as a staple in last year’s festival circuit.
Swedish production phenoms Galantis stunneda jam-packed Bayfront Park Main Stage audience at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami when they teased a snippet of their new single, “No Money” in the middle of their set setting fans into a frenzy. “No Money” is out now via Big Beat Records, alongside a newly born Seafox.
According to Galantis, “We experimented for quite some time on this one; it was one of those
Galantis enigma puzzles where you just have to keep on trying piece by
piece to get it right. Started the chord progression in Silver Lake LA,
built the body in Sukhumvit Bangkok, and
finished it off in the Stockholm archipelago. It feels like the track
has a flavor of each place actually. Finally, 12 year old Reece
delivered the vocal in perfect manner and we knew we had something we
really loved.”
Setting a new standard for songwriting in dance music, Galantis is a collaborative project between Christian Karlsson (aka Bloodshy) and Linus Eklöw (aka Stye of Eye). Their debut album “Pharmacy” (2015)is an anthemic, transcendent, 13-track feel good
record, written and recorded in Los Angeles and on a tiny archipelago
near Stockholm, Sweden. The album also spawned the GRAMMY-nominated,
Gold-certified worldwide hit single “Runaway (U & I).”
